During my senior year of high school, I organized a fundraiser at our local Chipotle for ALA. One of the things I learned was how something small like a fundraiser can make such a huge impact on someone’s life. Just a few days after we collected the money, I received an email showing me a picture of a Brave child and mentioning how my efforts and the support of the kind people at ALA helped cover for her stay at one of the ALA centers. Another key learning experience I had with ALA was being able to step out of my comfort zone.
